International Student Profile – Lucio Dery (graduate)

After two decades of public sector business administration, Lucio Dery had a dream of starting his own entrepreneurial journey. To that end, he travelled from Nandom in the Upper West Region of Ghana, enrolled in the Entrepreneurship Management program at Canadore College, and graduated in September with academic honours. 

In his search for a college, Lucio found that Canadore offered his dream program, relevant and enriching courses, and industry work experience.

 “I knew the journey must begin with academia through mentorship, practical industry experience, and networking with some successful entrepreneurs,” he said. “Canadore’s mantra, “Great Things Happen Here," and its serene campus and multi-cultural setting were a great attraction.”

 “I did learn what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur in a dynamic and very competitive global business environment through world-class entrepreneurial models in the classroom and expansion of my professional, personal, social, and multi-cultural networks. I confidently say I’m well stimulated and equipped with entrepreneurial spirit and drive to make the difference, contributing to making my society a better place.”
