(NORTH BAY, ONT.) – This Friday, Canadore College will be hosting Convocation Ceremonies its business and management; health, human care and wellness; language, access and preparatory studies; media, design and dramatic arts; and trades and technology programs.

Guest speaker Paul Robillard, founder and vice-president of Hard Hat Hunter, and operations manager at First North Enterprise will address 170 graduates and their families.

Born and raised in North Bay, Robillard embraced construction at a young age, under the guidance of his father, a residential building and renovation company owner. As operations manager, he oversees a crew of 125 employees to provide construction, residential development, forestry, trucking and concrete services to the region. Robillard also keeps busy as co-founder and vice-president of Hard Hat Hunter, a social network that facilitates nearly 1 million connections internationally, specifically designed for people who work in the skilled trades, construction and mining sectors. He holds degrees from the University of Ottawa and McMaster University.

“Paul is a champion for northern Ontario, showing the same amount of passion for our area as he does for his business,” said George Burton, President and CEO of Canadore College. “He literally builds capacity in our communities and makes similar investments in the people driving our municipalities. Leadership like his isn’t found easily.”

Students who articulated from select Canadore programs into degree studies at the Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) in Ireland will also be crossing the stage. On Friday, four new articulation agreements between LIT and Canadore will be inked to further expand educational pathways between the institutions.

Canadore is very proud of its graduates for their accomplishments and for achieving their education goals. Each year, approximately 1,000 students graduate from the College, joining a network of 44,000 alumni working across the globe.
