Canadore Panthers Basketball Names New Head Coach

(NORTH BAY) - Canadore College is pleased to welcome Stephen Hong as the new Men’s Varsity Basketball head coach.

Hong is known for being dedicated to the development of student-athletes on and off the court, with a philosophy that acknowledges and instills respect, discipline, and integrity.

He also has experience coaching in the Ontario Basketball Association and the Ontario Summer Games as well as youth, high school, and club programs.

Hong, who was born and raised in North Bay, has been coaching at the post-secondary level since 2013, as the Assistant Coach for the Nipissing Lakers Men’s Basketball Team.

“Coach Hong is well known in the basketball community,” said Shawna Nielsen, Director of Student Experience, Success and Athletics. “We welcome him to the Panther family and we look forward to working together to continue to build Canadore’s basketball program”

Stephen Hong will assume his coaching responsibilities at Canadore on June 1st.
