Canadore Panthers Basketball Names Arabi as New Head Coach

(NORTH BAY, ONT.) – Canadore College’s men’s basketball team is pleased to announce new head coach Rami Arabi.

Arabi has been coaching basketball at the postsecondary level for five years, most recently at the University of Prince Edward Island in Charlottetown, P.E.I. He has experience coaching and recruiting for many successful teams, including the Ryerson Rams, Seneca Sting and Westview Centennial Secondary School and assisting with large scale events for the Canada Basketball Junior Academy and Hoop Group.

Known as a strong leader with an exceptional work ethic, Arabi reinforces the values of balancing academic, family, social and athletic priorities and has built teams up to win national championships.

“Coach Arabi is renowned for his ability to spot talent, cultivate potential and generate campus and community support,” said Shawna Nielsen, director of student experience, success and athletics. “We are very pleased to be welcoming him to our Canadore Panther family.”

Arabi has been affiliated with various athletic sporting bodies, including U Sports, Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association, Ontario Colleges Athletic Association, Amateur Athletic Union and Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations. He will assume his coaching responsibilities at Canadore immediately.
