Canadore Hosting Applied Research and Entrepreneurship Forum

(NORTH BAY, ONT.) – Canadore College will be hosting its first applied research and entrepreneurship forum this Friday.

The symposium is an opportunity for students, industry and agencies to learn about Canadore’s involvement in innovative experiential learning, research and entrepreneurial activities, all of which accelerate community growth and expansion.

The event’s agenda includes presentations on current projects, social enterprise, student start-ups, Indigenous research and funding programs, as well as networking opportunities.

Location:        Innovation Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Production, Commerce Court Campus, 60 Commerce Crescent, North Bay, Ont.

The Canadore College Applied Research and Entrepreneurship Forum is funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and is presented in partnership with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR),  e-Hub, FedNor, Innovation Initiatives Ontario North (iion), National Research Council of Canada – Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC/IRAP), and the Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE).

Canadore College trains people through applied learning, leadership and innovation. It provides access to over 75 full-time quality programs and has outstanding faculty and provides success services to students from nearly 400 Canadian communities and 15 international countries. The College and its students add nearly $244 million to Nipissing Parry Sound Service Area economy. Approximately 1,000 students graduate from Canadore each year, and they join 45,000 alumni working across the globe. Canadore receives less than 50 per cent of its traditional funding from the provincial Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and relies on its own innovation and entrepreneurial endeavors and generous donors for the balance.
