Canadore’s first-year Culinary Management students are giving back to members of the community who are on the frontline of the fight against the spread of COVID-19.  They have been making bagged lunches and presenting them to several local agencies.

On Tuesday, members of the North Bay Fire Department paid a visit to the College Drive Campus to collect their lunches.  Each lunch contains soup, sandwich and dessert, and the recipients get a choice according to their tastes.  The students have already provided lunches for North Bay paramedics and mental health and addiction workers. Next week, members of the North Bay Police Service will receive their lunches, along with the students’ thank you for all of their hard work.

Student Cherelyn Giguere is happy to have the opportunity to provide this support to frontline and essential workers.

“They are working extra hard with the COVID-19 protocols.  We need to give back to the community in ways that help them get through these difficult times,” said Giguere.
