Obtain two diplomas in three years! Canadore graduates are eligible to transfer directly into the second year of the Recreation and Leisure Services program or Strength and Sport Conditioning program.

Work Placement: 

North Bay offers outstanding therapeutic recreation placement opportunities. Students work with a faculty advisor and therapeutic recreation professional to plan and complete 400 hours of placement including a seven-week internship at the end of the last semester. Students must be prepared to travel to and from placements at their own expense.

Learning Outcomes: 

Learning outcomes represent culminating demonstrations of learning and achievement. In addition, learning outcomes are interrelated and cannot be viewed in isolation of one another. As such, they should be viewed as a comprehensive whole. They describe performances that demonstrate that significant integrated learning by graduates of the program has been achieved.

The Recreation Therapy diploma allows our students to work towards Therapeutic Recreation Ontario’s (TRO) Registration Credential, High Five, Level One Inclusion Certificate, First Aid and CPR.

Note: Additional certifications may vary by year and are often outside of regular tuition costs.
